Studio Paradis is where Paradisverkstaden’s most artistic works take shape. Here, we bring together sculptures and larger ceramic objects created in limited editions - designed and handcrafted in our atelier on Öland.
From the studio
“At Studio Paradis, form can take on a greater role. Here, we can work more freely and allow the ceramics to become more sculptural.” Eva Paradis
The art of creating - with hands, heart, and clay
The creative process often begins with a simple sketch - an idea that emerges in the meeting between the designer’s hand and the possibilities of clay. Each object is wheel-thrown or hand-built in the atelier, where form and proportions evolve through focused craftsmanship.
Once the form is complete, the decoration begins. Brushstrokes, patterns, and surfaces interact with the glaze, giving each piece its character. In the final firing, the clay is transformed into ceramic, and the true colours are revealed.
Materials - natural, sustainable, and alive
We work with stoneware clay, a material that is both durable and alive. Our glazes are mixed with great care and develop their nuances during firing, where subtle variations make each piece unique.
All ceramics are created in Paradisverkstaden’s workshop on Öland, where the sea, the light, and the landscape continuously inspire our work.
Objects in Studio Paradis are often created in very limited editions - sometimes as singular pieces. Here, the ceramics are allowed to take on a greater presence, each work carrying the imprint of the hand and the process.
