Paradise Workshop celebrates anniversary on Öland

Five decades of love & ceramics
In the spring of 1975, Eva and Olof Paradis took the first step towards a lifelong vision. With the coastal meadows as their neighbors, they settled on a plot of land at Färjestaden, where an old barn soon became the site for something completely new - the Paradis workshop.
Five decades later, the workshop's 50th anniversary is now being celebrated - a story of love, craftsmanship, family and form.

Via Capella, France & Denmark to Öland
The story began a few years earlier, however, at Capellagården in Vickleby, where Eva and Olof met as young students. She studied textiles, he studied ceramics. The meeting was the beginning of a life together – both as artistic colleagues and life partners.
After training and internships in France and Denmark, among other places, the dream of having his own workshop took shape. And when the barn at Färjestaden was ready, Paradisverkstaden was born.

Color meets shape
Olof began to turn – with classic, simple shapes, inspired by his apprenticeship abroad. Eva, who initially focused on textiles, soon stepped more and more into the ceramic process.
The workshop soon became their joint project, where her sense of pattern and color met his design. A combination that is still characteristic of the Paradisverkstaden expression today.

Over the years, both the business and the family grew. Daughters Hannah and Moa grew up in the creative environment, with clay between their fingers and a world of color and shape around them. Today, they are the ones who carry on the legacy – with new ideas, collaborations and visions, but always with their roots still in the Öland soil.
Over the years, Paradisverkstaden has become more than just a workshop – it is a destination. A place where visitors can stop, be inspired, rest their eyes on world-class ceramics and enjoy the tranquility of the place. Today, the area houses a shop, a studio, a French crêperie and café – and soon a boules court. All with the same spirit, to offer an oasis for the senses.
