Skymning till Mork is a collection in porcelain clay that is the result of a collaboration with the designer Synnöve Mork. She mainly works with textiles and loves stripes and checks, and this time she has transferred the patterned surfaces onto ceramic works in collaboration with us at Paradisverkstaden.
The shapes are classic, both cast and turned and conceived as functional objects. The blackness, the contrasts and the play with the different techniques have resulted in a number of patterned shapes "From Dusk to Darkness". Broad brushstrokes, thread-thin lines and airbrush in sooty areas. The raw meets the slightly more refined. An idea of the hours between dusk and dawn. When the tones blur and everything becomes graphic horizon lines, shadows and dimensions.
Synnöve almost always works with paper models, scale forms to find the right measurements and scale of the patterns. The collaboration with Familjen Paradis has given her insight into the complexity of clay and experiences around how to apply patterns to the vessels.
