The artichoke is handmade in durable glazed ceramic and has a beautiful pattern inspired by nature. The decoration is carved out of the wet clay in various graceful foliage. The vase can be used for flowers and twigs or just as it is, as a beautiful interior detail.
The inspiration for the Artichoke came from the delight over the incredibly gorgeous thistle bud that the Artichoke actually is.
"In my sculptural forms there is often a regularity of cut-out or superimposed foliage. The artichoke is a huge thistle bud that, with its traveling pomp, also inspires respect and admiration. Among everything from tuber to bud in the kingdom of plants that has inspired me is the "Crown on the work" that constantly returns in new guises."
